On the road to Franconia

The route follows the A3 motorway east past Offenbach and Aschaffenburg, through the wooded Spessart hills and down into the Main valley. The drive usually takes 75 to 90 minutes. As the A3 often has roadworks, we check traffic before each trip and plan accordingly.

Delays at the airport are no problem: we track your flight and wait up to 60 minutes after landing at no extra charge.

Comfort for the longer journey

  • Individual seats for up to seven passengers
  • Large luggage area for suitcases, buggies and sports gear
  • Child seats and baby capsules on request
  • Climate control, chargers and water on request

Who travels with us

Würzburg is a university city with the Julius Maximilian University, a large university hospital and several research institutes, as well as companies such as Koenig & Bauer. International visitors almost always fly into Frankfurt, and we meet them with a name board and offer invoices for institutions.

Families and holidaymakers appreciate that they can relax right after landing, and solo travellers can work or sleep during the ride instead of watching for their station.

Always included

  • A binding fixed price shown in the booking form
  • 24/7 service for night flights and early departures
  • Free cancellation up to 60 minutes before pickup

Welcome to Würzburg

The Würzburg Residence, the former palace of the prince-bishops, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its grand staircase and Tiepolo’s enormous ceiling fresco. Above the city stands the Marienberg Fortress, and on summer evenings locals gather on the Old Main Bridge with a glass of Franconian wine and a view of the cathedral and the Käppele pilgrimage church.

Vineyards surround the city, and we are happy to take you directly to wine villages such as Sommerach, Randersacker or Volkach.

Planning your departure from Würzburg

With 120 kilometres to cover, choosing the right pickup time matters. As a rule of thumb, be at the terminal around two hours before a European flight and about three hours before a long-haul departure. Add 75 to 90 minutes of driving plus a buffer for the A3 – for a 10 a.m. flight to New York, that means leaving Würzburg at about 5:15 a.m.

You do not have to work this out yourself. Simply add your departure time in the comments field and we will suggest a suitable pickup. This is particularly helpful during the Bavarian and Hessian school holidays, when the A3 is at its busiest.

Train or private transfer?

ICE trains connect the airport station with Würzburg and suit solo travellers with light bags. For families and groups, the cost of individual tickets, the transfer to and from the station and the risk of delays add up. A private transfer gives you one fixed price for the whole vehicle and a seat from start to finish.
