A direct ride to Giessen
Giessen is a university city in central Hesse, about 75 km north of Frankfurt Airport. Trains require a change at Frankfurt Central Station. With a private transfer, you travel straight from the terminal to your address in under an hour.
Thousands of international students study at the Justus Liebig University and the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen. We regularly pick up new arrivals at the start of each semester.
Route
We drive north on the A5 past Bad Homburg, Friedberg and Bad Nauheim to Giessen. About 75 km, usually 50 to 60 minutes. Morning rush hour near Frankfurt can add time on departure days.
For students and researchers
Arriving in a new country with heavy luggage is stressful. Our drivers speak English, help with bags and drop you directly at your student residence or apartment.
The price is per vehicle, so friends arriving together can share the cost.
Price and value
You see a fixed price before you book. It includes tolls, luggage, child seats and 60 minutes of waiting after landing. There are no night or weekend surcharges.
Medical and business visitors
The university hospital in Giessen is one of the largest in Hesse, and specialists, patients and their families travel here from abroad. We drive directly to the hospital entrance and can wait if you are only visiting for an appointment.
Central Hesse is also home to many manufacturing and logistics firms around the Gambach interchange. Company guests can be met with a name sign and invoiced to their host.
Coming home late
Late-evening arrivals are common on flights from the Gulf and North America. Regional trains from Frankfurt to Giessen thin out at night, and a missed connection can mean an hour on a cold platform. With a pre-booked driver, you leave the airport within minutes of collecting your bags.
A town of students
Almost a third of the people you meet in Giessen are students, which gives the town a lively atmosphere, many cafés and affordable restaurants. If you are visiting your son or daughter at university, a direct ride from the airport lets you arrive rested and spend more time together.
Exploring Central Hesse
Giessen is a good base for exploring Central Hesse. To the east lies the Vogelsberg, an extinct volcano with forests and cycle paths. To the west, the Lahn valley leads to Wetzlar and the castle town of Braunfels. Marburg is half an hour to the north. We can drive you from Frankfurt Airport to any of these places.
Families welcome
Infant carriers, child seats and boosters are free. Tell us the ages of your children and we will fit the right seats before arrival. There is plenty of room for strollers and travel cots.
The wider district
Linden and Pohlheim south of Giessen are just minutes from the A5, about 45 to 55 minutes from the airport. To the east, we pick up in Lich, known for its brewery and the ruins of Arnsburg Abbey, and in Laubach at the edge of the Vogelsberg. To the north we cover Buseck, Staufenberg and Lollar. Many of these villages have no direct train to Frankfurt, so a private transfer saves a lot of time, especially with luggage.
Our drivers know the area well and can find even new addresses quickly.
For frequent flyers
Regular business travellers from Giessen can open a corporate account with saved addresses, monthly invoices and, where possible, the same driver each time. Bookings take seconds, and if your return flight is late, the pickup is adjusted automatically without you having to call.
Conferences and visiting scientists
With two universities, research institutes and a large hospital, Giessen hosts scientific conferences throughout the year. For organisers, we coordinate airport pickups matched to participants' arrival times and return trips at the end of the event. Invoices can be issued to the university, institute or company.
Delays
If your flight is late, we see it from the flight number and send the driver for the new arrival time at no extra cost. You still have 60 minutes after the actual landing for passport control and baggage claim.
Summer by the Lahn
In summer, students gather on the meadows along the Lahn and around the Schwanenteich pond. Visitors arriving from Frankfurt can be there by early evening.
Evenings
Around the Seltersweg there are student pubs and small restaurants open late, handy if you arrive in the evening.
