For many newcomers, Kaiserslautern is the first stop in Germany – and Frankfurt Airport is where the journey begins. With more than 115 kilometres between the terminal and the Westpfalz, plus a train change in Mannheim or Mainz, the trip can feel long after a transatlantic flight. Our Frankfurt Airport to Kaiserslautern transfer takes you directly to your hotel, lodging or new home.
Your chauffeur meets you at arrivals and drives a Mercedes-Benz V-Class with seats for up to seven people. You pay a fixed price that is set when you book, with no meter and no surprises.
Route and travel time
From the airport we usually take the A67 or A3 to the A60 near Mainz, then continue on the A63 towards Kaiserslautern. The drive takes around 70 to 85 minutes in normal traffic. We track your flight in real time and wait up to 60 minutes after landing for free.
Space for families, teams and PCS moves
The V-Class is perfect for families arriving with lots of luggage – including those on a permanent change of station (PCS) move.
- Seven individual seats
- A large cargo area for suitcases, duffel bags and strollers
- Child seats, boosters and baby capsules on request
- Air conditioning and phone chargers
Bringing pet carriers or unusually large items? Let us know in the booking form and we will check the space or arrange a second vehicle.
Serving the Kaiserslautern Military Community
The Kaiserslautern area, including Ramstein Air Base, is home to one of the largest American communities outside the United States. Our drivers communicate in English and know the neighbourhoods around Vogelweh, Landstuhl, Ramstein-Miesenbach and Weilerbach. Visiting family members, contractors and service members all use our transfers.
The city is also home to the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University, a Fraunhofer institute and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), which welcome researchers from around the world. We provide name-board pickups and invoices for organisations.

Getting to know Kaiserslautern
Kaiserslautern is best known for the Fritz-Walter-Stadion on the Betzenberg hill, home of 1. FC Kaiserslautern. In town you will also find the Gothic Stiftskirche, the remains of Emperor Barbarossa's palace and a beautiful Japanese Garden. The Palatinate Forest, one of Germany's largest continuous forests, starts right at the edge of the city and offers countless hiking trails.
On match days the area around the stadium gets busy, so we choose a route that avoids it.
Why not take the train?
Trains from the airport to Kaiserslautern usually involve a change and a walk between platforms – tricky with several suitcases and tired children. A private transfer is door to door, priced per vehicle, and often comparable in cost for a family once you add up individual tickets and a taxi from the station.
Arriving on an overnight flight from the US
Many passengers heading to Kaiserslautern arrive on an overnight flight from the US East Coast and land in Frankfurt early in the morning. After passport control and baggage claim, your driver will be waiting with a name board in the arrivals hall. Because we track your landing time live, it does not matter whether the aircraft arrives half an hour early or late.
On the way to the Palatinate you can rest while we avoid the rush-hour traffic around Mainz. If you would like to stop at your lodging first and then continue to your workplace, simply add both addresses when booking. Families with small children can ask for a short break at a motorway service area.
Departing for the US
For flights back to the United States, we recommend arriving at Frankfurt Airport about three hours before departure. With a drive of 70 to 85 minutes, that usually means a pickup around four and a half hours before your flight. Tell us your flight number and we will suggest the right time.
